Penang, commonly known as the "Pearl of the Orient," is one of Malaysia's most popular tourist destinations. Penang is particularly well-known as the greatest spot to sample delectable native cuisine; it is regarded as Malaysia's food capital. There are several hotels and resorts on the island, the most of which are located in and around the city of Georgetown, as well as the villages of Batu Ferringhi and Tanjung Bungah. The malls are mostly concentrated in and around Georgetown. The Komtar complex is only a few hundred yards distant from Chinatown. A typical day in Penang Island consists of sun for the majority of the day, with the odd rain shower near the end.
