Perlis is Malaysia's smallest state, located in the northwest corner of the Peninsular. Thailand borders it on the north, while Kedah borders it on the east and south. Its western shore runs along the Malacca Strait. Despite its tiny size, Perlis has several attractions, the most notable of which is its quiet, unspoiled beauty. Perlis, too, is rich in rustic rural scenery and rolling green padi fields. Kangar, Arau, Kuala Perlis, and Padang Besar are the state's main towns.
